Escape from the White-Savior Industrial Complex: The Game” is a parody of “Half the Sky Movement: The Game” that seeks to complicate and stimulate dialogue about Half the Sky’s representations of “Third World” women. It was created by a former-Nick-Kristof-groupie in the Global North who began to recognize the representational problems of the Half the Sky brand through exposure to sex worker collectives and other social movements in the Global South. The game is not affiliated with a sex worker collective, nor does it claim to “speak” for sex workers. Sex workers can speak for themselves. Check out the links to sex worker collectives’ media and activism in the about page.
